Day 18 - Sydney
Thursday was spent looking for those last little gifts that I wanted to bring back for my coworkers. I'm not sure how the tradition started but I'm keeping it going with the keychains, coasters and pens I've brought back.
My folks decided we should have lunch at the Garden Buffet at the Star Casino, then we racked up enough points to have a free dinner for each of us! On the way to the city, we stopped so I could take some photos (below). Quickly walked through Darling Harbour, to the QVB, Chinatown, and then spotted Paddy's Market. But we got there so late that it was closing in 5 minutes, oh well, c'est la vie. Dined at the Casino and then was dropped off at J1 and T's, where we took photos with my new tripod (thanks J1) and chatted.
We took a little stroll at Putney, the houses that overlooked the cove were alot grander than the ones in my parents neighbourhood. I wharf seemed pretty isolated until I noticed how much the water had actually receded. I tried to capture the little fishies in the water, but instead just got the sun reflecting off it.
After a brief stop at Putney, we also headed down to Huntley Point so that I could take a picture of the Gladesville Bridge, which in my opinion has one of the best views of the city (for the general public).
Having already had dinner with the folks, J1 and T made a quick drive to Newtown (I think) to pick up some dinner. Veggie Curry Puffs, veggie shrimp, and veggie wonton soup, T is a vegetarian.
T also picked up a couple donuts from a bakery, from the packaging alone, I wish I had seen this place. I'm trying to think back as to why I didn't get better photos but like everything else, I can't remember. One had green tea filling and the other custard.
