Window treats

I love hot air balloons, when I finally get a permanent place to live this may be my first collection. These cut out thingy's are also very cool. They remind me of those paper cut outs a distant relative use to do but on a grander yet simpler scale.
And I used to think you couldn't make a living only selling one product! FLUFF, the pillow store, mind you I didn't really get a good look at the rest of the store...maybe there were matching couches and chairs in the back?
Annie Thompson, it' hard to see the detail in her clothing but believe me its there! And the bags are great too!!
This store carried alot of retro items, but the toothpic holder man caught my eye.

Neat things along Queen

The first time I've seen a Blythe for sale in downtown Toronto, normally I see them up at the asian malls in Markham. I can't even imagine how much this one is going for on Queen Street.Cute yet very frightening, would you want this floating in your kid's bath?
This was the only window that didn't have a huge glare in it, the rest of the display were all cool ornaments mostly made of tin, seeing as this was a tin fabrication shop.
I especially like the paperclips coming out of you know where!

This is just cute, granted it didn't quite go with the stark white contemporary interior of the restaurant, but cute none the less.

Shopping along Queen Street West

Some of my favourite places to go along Queen Street West (between Trinity Bellwoods Park and Spadina)
1. Chippy's (fish'n chips)
2. the paper place - formerly the japanese paper place (self explanatory)
3. Dufflet Pasteries
4. Mokuba (ribbon store)
5. Arton Beads (beads and findings) also Arton 2 next door.

This is one of my favourite interior spaces in Toronto. They closed off a street and housed the historical buildings under this steel and glass structure. And I should mention the Hockey Hall of Fame is here too!

Swarovski Tree 2005

Today I was whipping throught the Eaton's Centre, and I actually had my camera with me (I've passed this tree about 10 times in the past 2 weeks). If I wasn't in such a rush I would have gone down a level and taken a better picture. There are thousands of Swarovski crystal snowflakes on this tree, which is guarded 24/7 (each crystal is worth about $95 retail). Maybe I'll try to get there again before they take it down.

I decided to spend my last official day off work for the year wandering Queen Street West, between Trinity Bellwoods Park and Spadina. I was borderline getting frostbite on the top of my right hand, but it was well worth it cuz I found a cute fairy on the back of a building by a parking lot. I cruised through the alley ways though and tried not to look down at whatever was going on there the night before.

Overwhelmed

I'm pretty sure I put too much bleach in the laundry right now, so not only am I overwhelmed by the mess I just created by tearing apart my short lived interior design portfolio, but the smell is making me sick. Yet I continue to work on my blog...hold on a sec, I'm going to crack open the window...okay back, my face is now frozen...I gotta turn on the heat...maybe I should put some socks on? What was I talking about? Oh yes...I have to get back to the recycling otherwise A won't be able to get in the door.

I think I'm going to keep this piece, and one day colour it.

Such Memories!

Oh yeah, this was my first drafting assignment. Well the first one after drafting boxes and other rectangle shapes. But what this space really is, is the open space that the Department of Architecture would use for lectures and most importantly, the space where we'd hold our Christmas, Halloween and Ditchball Dance Parties....Oh I've gotta find some pictures and post them (gotta get myself to the storage room first). Many a drunken fool danced around here. On a side note, those were the doors to our lecture rooms...snoozefest! This is the corridoor to the offices, library, green quad, and the above mentioned area. Behind the glass doors were where we set up the beer and booze selling for our gatherings. I passed out many o'beers and rum and cokes here. This is also the last place I drank Lemon Gin.

MTS competition

Okay, so if I rack my brain hard enough, I can hear Prof. DJ saying that MTS would see these projects because this was an existing space somewhere in Winnipeg. I do believe someone in my graduating class ended up working for MTS...wonder if they brought thier version to their job interview?

Retail wonder

My facination with paper took over when I designed this retail space. It wasn't until I tore this one apart when I figured I should take some pictures. I don't know where the rest of this project is, it could be in the...oh I see it now...its destroyed already...oh well. You're only missing the reflective ceiling plan and floor plan.

Spatial Awareness Experiment

This may have been more of an experiment with the One Point Perspective, and technical pen drafting. If not, I'm not sure what kind of Spatial Awareness this shows.

Compact

Whenever I was given the "Assignment" as soon as I knew what the size of the plan was going to be, I came up with how I'd present it...then it would take me the rest of the time to design the layout...thats all just filler anyways!

Medical Dental Clinic

Do these two even really co-exist? I'm having a hard enough time finding a family doctor, let alone a place that would be convenient enough to have both. Perhaps I should tote around this fine specimen of a project and show people how much sense this would make for the unoccupied space behind the Shopper's Drug Mart up the street?

The Year 2000

I guess over a decade ago, my professors knew how Toronto would become the condo capital of Canada. They had us design a condo/loft for a living and working environment. I even put a kid's room, a kid I think I named Cy (what was I thinking!)...not sure what all the curves were about, but then again, I can barely remember what I did last week.

A restaurant

I ripped my name off these boards and crumpled up some pages before it dawned on me that I could remimisce about the four years I was in university for a degree I don't use by capturing it on film, well digital film...okay no film, and not very well taken photos...I didn't even bother correcting them in photoshop! Seems like 10 years ago I was already interested in quilts...why I'd theme a restaurant around quilts is beyond me. And that last pic...well I had already ripped off the materials for the material board, its in the pile of garbage that now overtakes the apartment!

Recycling

With many promises that I'd get rid of my university work from over a decade ago (yikes) I said I'd do the recycling for todays pick up. Here's a look into my life, microwavable dip, diet pepsi, just add an egg and milk pancakes, foam bandaids, strategically turned over boxes, paper towel roll and the deluxe roulette wheel box. The other things were gifts from me for xmas.

tsaiWare 2.0

It's rounding about a year since I launched tsaiWare and after many months of telling J1 and J3 that I'd create a new blog, more me, less crafting, here it is!

The only thing I've done is added a counter so far. Just a little note to let you know that I had to add the "Online Degrees" line to it, otherwise the counter wouldn't work.

And YES I know the counter doesn't quite match the template of the blog...at this point, I'm just happy to get this one going.

So for all you tsaiWare fans, I hope seeing my life adventures, rather than the crafing ones, won't bore you to tears!
