From one MiddleChild to another

Yes people still go out for lunch with me, infact they generally slide their food over to me before they dig in so I can take a picture of it (with minimal eye rolling of course). I thought of you and your bologne sandwich while I had lunch today! Mine is the Grilled Pork Bun (vermicelli) and my coworkers is the Chicken Chow Mein. I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of Ken's porkchop peanut noodle soup the next time you have it!

Fake Crocs2 Fake Crocs1
Fake crocs are the worst, especially when they're sold in mass for dirt cheap. They may look 95% the same, but believe me, they feel 100% different. Look at how those lime green ones are collapsing in on themselves! Oh the shame!!

This is the third time I've been contacted about someone using a photo I've taken in a website. The first two were just short listed and I have no idea if they were actually used in the end. However I thought I'd note the link to this blog just to spread the word about Biliary Atresia.

Third time a charm?

BBQ Chicken Sandwich with Buffalo Chips

Fish and Chips (fries substitued for buffalo chips...cuz fish and "chips" would have been wierd).

All I have to say, is we're never going to Greenjeans again. Overall the food was the same, but the prices have been jacked up to cover all the new white plates replaced the baskets and renovations. The service has consistently been mediocre. I only photgraphed the food because I know that J1 and J3 would probably like to reminisce about Mr. Greenjeans and the Buffalo Chips.

Go Go Graffiti

After work yesterday I decided to go hunting for some new graffiti, I don't really need to go far seeing as there is a specific alley just south of Queen Street W between Spadina and Bathurst that constantly changes. I will probably go again in the fall, just to see what is going on.

Leftovers

This was what I ordered yesterday: Blackbean beef w/veggies noodle. It was very, VERY salty so instead of sending it back, I ordered a bowl of rice and ate the noodle dish as a "topping". There was so much left over, I just combined the rice and noodles and they packed it into the tinies little chinese take out container.

Today I ate the rest for lunch and this is how it came out onto the plate, so of course I had to take a picture of it!

SweetLulu

A few of the gals went out for lunch yesterday on Queen Street W. This asian style restaurant served up noodles or rice dishes custom made. Choose your Protein, Rice or Noodles, the Flavour, the Herbs, and Nuts. We all split the Chicken Satay, and the other dish shown was: Wheat Noodles with Beef and Veggies in a Malay (sweet peanut satay) sauce, with all the herb...coriander leaves, shredded ginger, crushed farlic, sweet basil, ground black pepper, chili flakes, lemongrass, and lime leaves...and a topping of crushed cashews. I'm not sure how it tasted, but it must have been prently flavourful!

Forgotten Bike Memorial

Bike Lanes
Bike Tower
So the story is that these bikes were left around the Harbourfront, so someone took it upon themselves to make this gateway for cyclists infront of Queen's Quay.

Yesterday I went to the Hot and Spicy Festival at the Harbour Front. I didn't have anything to eat, becaues we just came from the Taste of the Danforth. These potato patties caught my eye, then I noticed the yummy pulled pork and chicken! We should have come here first!

Dunny3

Dunny3 Box Top

Dunny3s
Dunny3's came out last week, and a coworker and I split a case. For those of you who don't know anything about the vinyl toy craze I'm currently going through. Each of the toys are sealed in an identical box, and there are only limited items of a few (the mystery toy). So if you only buy them one at a time, you have to keep buying them to get the whole collection yadda yadda. So we just killed a few birds with one stone and split a case of 25.

We took turns opening up boxes, one by one. And if we opened a duplicate, we'd just hand it off to the other who didn't already open one. We hit the jackpot with Craola (the one with the bat) because we got five of that one.

Later that night there was a Dunny3 Trading Party, so I took three of the Craola's and traded two for other toys. I also brought a couple of other toys to trade and got two Trexi's and a Quee Monkey (no photo).

Dunny3 Trading Party
That's about the only thing I've done worth talking about since my the July 21 post. I have all of these except for Abe Lincoln Jr (top right-with three holes in his head). Unfortunately I didn't pick this box, so he is now with my coworker. But the rest are mine! Whoohooo!!!!
Lets get ready to rumble

Sweet Relief

Man it's been really hot and humid in Toronto for the past couple of weeks, I think we've broken all sorts or records this week alone. The humidity has finally changed, back to something more comfortable today. It will still be hot, but at least it won't feel like a sauna out there. Which is why I haven't been taking any photos lately, at least ones outdoors. I'm finally reading the manual so I can take awesome shots in Vegas! Whooohooo!

We've bumped up the trip to September instead of October, I need a vacation! And I can't wait to spend alot of time taking photos. I hope 2GB is enough for the week.
I'm definately counting down the days!
